As mayors and governors lament over the United States pull out of the Paris Climate Accords, actual scientists have been at work. 

United Nations' treaties, accords, and what have you are about politics and social engineering, none of those agreements are based on actual science. If they were, people would come to realize that the sun creates weather and our sun is headed toward a Solar Grand Minimum.

No Global Warming. No Climate Change... just a regularly scheduled break in solar activity that will lead us into a mini ice age like what was seen during the Maunder Minimum:

The Maunder minimum is the name given to a period of extreme solar inactivity that occurred between 1645 and 1710. Of particular interest is that this period of inactivity corresponds closely to one of the coldest periods of the so-called "Little Ice Age" in Europe, a time of long, cold winters that caused severe hardships in the pre-industrial revolution world. This has led scientists to extensively study the possible influences of solar activity on terrestrial climate, as well as examine other stars for evidence of activity cycle behavior similar to the Sun's.

Even if you cannot read the science, you can very well understand the pictures. 

Climate change connected to Global Warming is fake news. Made up by politicians and debunked by real science. 

Maybe mayors and governors should start listening to the smart people instead of being sheep.

1. Introduction
Ionosphere is a shell of a large amount of electrons and it is disturbed by various causes such as volcanic eruptions [Heki, 2006;Dautermann et al., 2009], solar flares [Donnelly, 1976], earthquakes [ Cahyadi and Heki, 2015], and so on. Analyzing Total Electron Content (TEC) data is one of the most popular method to monitor the ionosphere. TEC data contains the number of electrons integrated along the line of sight between the GNSS satellites and the observation stations on the ground. Japan has a dense GNSS observation network (the GNSS earth observation network, GEONET) to collect daily TEC.

At the EU2015 conference this past June, the well known “skeptic” Michael Shermer participated in a panel discussion on the topic, "When Radical Ideas Challenge Conventional Science." Wal Thornhill and Dave Talbott also participated, along with Dr. Gary Schwartz of the University of Arizona. Subsequently, Dr. Shermer’s dismissive review of the conference appeared in Scientific American, October 2015. But now Dr. Shermer’s review itself is the subject of critical analysis, including comments from Dr. Donald Scott and mathematician Stephen Crothers. Russian scientists from the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), together with their French and American colleagues, have created a “map” of the distribution of water vapour in Mars’ atmosphere. Their research includes observations of seasonal variations in atmospheric concentrations using data collected over ten years by the Russian-French SPICAM spectrometer aboard the Mars Express orbiter. This is the longest period of observation and provides the largest volume of data about water vapour on Mars.

Being A Prepper: Not for Crazy People Anymore

To be fair, preppers aren't crazy. Some are a little extreme, but as the world gets more insane, people's behavior tends to sway toward Newton's Third Law: "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction."

So a few people push that envelope. For the rest of us on a budget, what does preparedness mean?

FEMA has a good manual online except for the duration of your stockpile. The government states a person should have enough food, water, and necessities for two weeks. It's like FEMA has never been involved with a natural catastrophe before.

Preppers prepare for years. FEMA says a fortnight. What's the real deal?

In the article, Figuring the Size of Your Emergency Fund, the author states:

You ought to have an emergency fund equal to your minimum monthly expenses times at least three months, and preferably six months, and keep it to be stashed where you can get at least a large fraction of within one business day. It's one of the basic rules of personal finance for good reasons.

So if financial consultants say three to six months, but six is better for back up finances, then logic should suggest three to six months worth of goods should be in that equation too.

So in an emergency, you will have money for bills and necessities for stability.

Now, don't we all feel better?

MICHAEL C.H. McKUBRE is currently principal scientist in the Materials Research Laboratory at SRI International. He began his undergraduate studies at George Washington University and completed his B.Sc., M.Sc. (with honors) and Ph.D. in Chemistry and Physics at Victoria University, Wellington New Zealand. During his Ph.D. studies he taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Electrochemistry, Surface Chemistry and Electronics for Scientists. On completing his Ph.D., Dr.McKubre was granted a two year Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Southampton University, England. There he: undertook research into the electrochemical kinetic processes involved with flow-through electrochemical reactors; researched, designed, constructed and employed a novel ac impedance device to characterize flow-through reactors; assisted with the supervision of Ph.D. and M.Sc. students working on related and derivative projects.

Dr. McKubre joined SRI as an Electrochemist in 1978 and was appointed Manager of the Electrochemistry Program in 1982 and Director of the Energy Research Center in 1992.

In the last two decades as Director of the Energy Research Center, Dr. McKubre has applied himself to the discovery and application of potential new energy sources, specifically those associated with the deuterium/palladium system. He is recognized internationally in this field as an expert in the areas of PdH and PdD electrochemistry and calorimetry. Dr. McKubre has consulted for governmental agencies and private corporations on issues relating to advanced rechargeable batteries, fuel cells and stationary power generation systems on potential futures for novel energy sources.
