Pushing Social Security to the Breaking Point

Staff Writer, DL Mullan
Social Security / Medicare
_____________________________________

Americans know the system is rigged against them. That includes their Social Security benefits. Many rich do not contribute their fair share because their contribution monies are capped at $200,000.

The energy, commodities, and other markets are also rigged on Wall Street. So when it comes to increasing the COLA for retired or disabled individuals, the government makes sure there is no raise. 2017 will mark the second year in a row for zero inflation help.

The annual report from the Trustees gives Social Security a dismal future prospects for American's retirement. With a push to privatize and therefore steal Americans retirements and wealth through the corrupt gambling institution known as Wall Street, politicians are hopeful of the program's demise. Their banker and Wall Street backers cannot steal unless it's in the market, of course.

Another Globalist agenda to ruin the prosperity of the American worker. here is a dose of reality from Paul Craig Roberts for Infowars:
Republicans regard Social Security as an “unfunded liability,” that is, a giveaway that is interfering with our war-making ability.

Alas, Social Security is an unfunded liability, because all the money working people put into it was stolen by Republicans and Democrats in order to pay for wars and bailouts for mega-rich bankers like Goldman Sachs.

What I am about to tell you might come as a shock, but it is the absolute truth, which you can verify for yourself by going online to the government’s annual OASDI and HI reports. According to the official 2010 Social Security reports, between 1984 and 2009 the American people contributed $2 trillion, that is $2,000 billion, more to Social Security and Medicare in payroll taxes than was paid out in benefits.

What happened to the surplus $2,000 billion, or $2,000,000,000,000.

The government spent it.
So the next time you see summer prices go down, note what the politicians want you to believe: those retirees and disabled people deserve not to eat or afford their medications. The war machine and all those poor rich defense contractors must be funded or politicians will not get bribed into office.

Stand up, America! End the wars that are creating poverty and destitution in our country.

Also end the lies that old people and the disabled are contributing to your economic woes instead of morally and ethically bankrupt NeoCon, Globalist opportunists hiding as representative government.

Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2015-2020

Staff Writer, Nicole Meyer-Greene
Health / Food
______________________________________

The SAD, Standard American Diet, has been updated:
The Dietary Guidelines is required under the 1990 National Nutrition Monitoring and Related Research Act, which states that every 5 years, the U.S. Departments of Agriculture (USDA) and Health and Human Services (HHS) must jointly publish a report containing nutritional and dietary information and guidelines for the general public. The statute (Public Law 101-445, 7 U.S.C. 5341 et seq.) requires that the Dietary Guidelines be based on the preponderance of current scientific and medical knowledge. The 2015-2020 edition of the Dietary Guidelines builds from the 2010 edition with revisions based on the Scientific Report of the 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee and consideration of Federal agency and public comments.

Previous editions of the Dietary Guidelines focused primarily on individual dietary components such as food groups and nutrients. However, people do not eat food groups and nutrients in isolation but rather in combination, and the totality of the diet forms an overall eating pattern. The components of the eating pattern can have interactive and potentially cumulative effects on health. These patterns can be tailored to an individual’s personal preferences, enabling Americans to choose the diet that is right for them. As a result, healthy eating patterns and their food and nutrient characteristics are a focus of the recommendations in the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines.

The Dietary Guidelines is designed for nutrition and health professionals to help all individuals ages 2 years and older and their families consume a healthy, nutritionally adequate diet. The information in the Dietary Guidelines is used by policymakers in developing Federal food, nutrition, and health policies and programs. It also is the basis for Federal nutrition education materials designed for the public and for the nutrition education components of HHS and USDA food programs.

The 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans is the 8th edition released since 1980 and remains the current edition until the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans is released.

The State of the First Amendment: 2014

Staff Writer, R. Patrick Chapman
Bill of Rights / Polls
______________________________________

The State of the First Amendment: 2014 is a report about how Americans view the entire First Amendment, if some of them knew what that was.
When asked to name the five specific freedoms in the First Amendment, 68% of Americans name freedom of speech, followed by 29% who say the freedom of religion, 14% mention the freedom of the press, 7% mention the right to assemble, and 1% name the right to petition. Twenty-nine percent of those surveyed cannot name any of the rights guaranteed by the First Amendment.
Those who could name freedom of speech and freedom of religion increased this year from 59% to 68% and 24% to 29% respectively. Meanwhile, the knowledge of right to petition and right of assembly decreased from 4% to 1% and 11% to 7% respectively. The percentage of Americans who can’t name any First Amendment rights dropped from 36% to 29%.
The deprogramming of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness must be working, but to combat this limited perspective, here is the First Amendment:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Memorize it, there might be a quiz later.

CISPA Returns Because the Terrorists Hate Your Freedoms

Staff Writer, R. Patrick Chapman
Government / Surveillance
__________________________________

That is right, the men and women of the United States Congress hate that you are free. Besides the fact that all the surveillance you and the rest of the world are under has not stopped a terrorist attack, Congress wants to make sure that they can spy on you more anyway.

Even though CISPA 2015 was introduced last Thursday, for some reason, the text of the bill has not appeared on Congress.gov. Earlier today, I called Representative Ruppersberger’s office to get a copy of the bill.

Under CISPA 2015 (HR 234), the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Attorney General, the Director of National Intelligence, and the Secretary of Defense would create the cyber threat information sharing program and also provide oversight for the program’s civil liberties protections. This is akin to allowing the foxes to guard the hen house. CISPA 2015 also mandates privacy and civil liberties reports, but allows government agencies to classify the annexes to the reports. In other words, CISPA 2015 does not intend to have any real oversight for civil liberties and privacy. Cyber threat information shared with the government would also be exempt from the Freedom of Information Act and would be a serious blow to transparency in government. Perhaps the worst thing about the CISPA 2015 bill is that it would give immunity from criminal prosecution and lawsuits to anyone sharing cyber threat information with the government. CISPA 2015 would provide for an even cozier relationship between Silicon Valley and the US government at the detriment of civil liberties and privacy for everyone else.

CISPA 2015 has now been referred to the House Committees on the Judiciary, Armed Services, Homeland Security, and Intelligence.
Why do the American people have to give up their rights to serve the paranoia of government officials?

Who are the terrorists anyway? Ordinary citizens? The "rebels" the U.S. government funds and supplies with weapons? Or Congress itself?

Why Can't Chuck Get His Business Off the Ground?

Staff Writer, R. Patrick Chapman
Business / UCC
____________________________________

With all the codes and licenses business owners are supposed to obey and pay for, is it a wonder Americans are forced to work for others instead of themselves?

Isn't that the point? Corporate governance means nothing if people can work for themselves.

Since the inception of corporate governance dating back to 1871 in the case of the United States Federal government, Americans have been on the losing end of privatization. After Americans were defined as enemies of the state by the Trading with the Enemy Act of 1917 as well as the introduction of other legislation including the Federal Reserve Act of 1933, America has been on a downward spiral economically, educationally, socially, and militarily.

The squabbles about lifting regulations are only political hoodwinks to distract from the real issues at hand: the United States Federal government is a de facto regime; the actual President of the United States is the Head of the Treasury Department appointed by the Federal Reserve; UCC regulations are Admiralty/Maritime Jurisdictional Law passed off as Statues.

And you wonder why you have to use toxic CFL light bulbs because the United States Congress bans nontoxic light bulbs to satisfy the United Nations failed Global Warming Carbon Tax scams.

Congress Admits It's Too Stupid to Label GMO's

Staff Writer, Nicole Meyer-Greene
GMO's / Food Industry
__________________________________

GMO's, or genetically modified organisms, in the past few decades have been pushed on the American public in secret. Education from large biotech and chemical companies has been nonexistent as well as independent, third party safety studies. All these trade protections have led to a major push back from consumers who see an increase in illness and diseases since GMO's have proliferated the grocery isles. Consumers want answers, labeling, and control over their bodies.

Politicians and big corporations do not see how Americans can be educated about something as clandestine as GMO's and that is the reason why Americans are too ignorant to have information such as food labeling.

Congress held a hearing about GMO labeling and concluded with its skewed witness testimony that Americans are just too ignorant and stupid to understand GMO's or labels for them.

That is not an accurate summation but Congress and GMO advocates still believe you are stupid:

Really? It sounds like Congress is the one that is stupid. Let's talk about Congressional ignorance on the subject of GMO's:
1. There is no consensus on GM food safety
2. There are no epidemiological studies investigating potential effects of GM food consumption on human health
3. Claims that scientific and governmental bodies endorse GMO safety are exaggerated or inaccurate
4. EU research project does not provide reliable evidence of GM food safety
5. List of several hundred studies does not show GM food safety
6. There is no consensus on the environmental risks of GM crops
7. International agreements show widespread recognition of risks posed by GM foods and crops
What are the facts about GMO crops?
Over 80% of all GMOs grown worldwide are engineered for herbicide tolerance. As a result, use of toxic herbicides like Roundup has increased 15 times since GMOs were introduced. GMO crops are also responsible for the emergence of “super weeds” and “super bugs:’ which can only be killed with ever more toxic poisons like 2,4-D (a major ingredient in Agent Orange). GMOs are a direct extension of chemical agriculture, and are developed and sold by the world’s biggest chemical companies. The long-term impacts of GMOs are unknown, and once released into the environment these novel organisms cannot be recalled.
Or read, Dr. Mercola's article: Why GMOs Can Never Be Safe:
The truth is that studies of GM food have shown tumors, organ failure, gastric lesions, liver damage, kidney damage, allergic reactions and more.
What are the Myths of GM crops that Mainstream Media, Congressional witnesses, biotech companies, and Congress wants you to believe? Here's a list:
Myth #1: No one has ever proven that GMOs are harmful to people
The truth is that studies of GM food have shown tumors, premature death, organ failure, gastric lesions, liver damage, kidney damage, allergic reactions, and more.
Myth #2: GM crops are the only way to solve world hunger
The reality is that GM farming practices are not sustainable, which virtually guarantees future crop collapses and subsequent famine. Nor are farmers able to save their seeds due to patent infringement and poor fertility in the seeds. Sustainable agricultural practices are the answer to world hunger.
Myth #3: GM crops need less pesticide spraying
The truth is that after the first couple of years, the use of pesticides and herbicides on GM crops has increased dramatically.
Myth #4: GM technology is comparable to the cross-breeding that our ancestors did to create hardier versions of heritage crops
Cross pollination of different varieties of the same plant (what our ancestors did) is low-tech and can occur naturally. Genetic modification of seeds is done in a lab and often crosses different biological kingdoms, such as crossing a bacteria with a plant the unintended adverse effects of which may be incalculably large and impossible to ascertain before they are released into the biosphere.
Myth #5: If the FDA and the USDA allow them, they must be safe
Monsanto has close ties with the US government, such that, despite the obvious conflict of interest, Monsanto executives have been given policy-making positions in Bush, Clinton and Obama administrations.
Myth #6: There is no nutritional difference between GM food and non-GM food
A 2012 nutritional analysis of GM versus non-GM corn showed shocking differences in nutritional content. Non-GM corn contains 437 times more calcium, 56 times more magnesium, and 7 times more manganese than GM corn. GM corn was also found to contain 13 ppm of glyphosate, a pesticide so toxic that it may be carcinogenic in the parts-per-trillion range, compared to zero in non-GM corn.
Myth #7: GMOs are impossible to avoid
GM ingredients are found in more than 70 percent of processed foods, but you can largely avoid them by avoiding these processed foods. By switching to whole foods like vegetables, fruits, grass-fed meats and other basic staples, you can control the GM foods in your diet.
Myth #8: Monsanto has our best interests in mind
Monsanto has spent over half a million dollars on hiring a firm to help 'protect the Monsanto brand name' from activists. There is speculation that they have placed trolls on anti-GM Web sites, hidden posts from social media, and even possibly hacked researchers computers days before they were set to release a damaging study. There's even speculation that the US government is spying on anti-Monsanto activists.
Myth #9: GMOs are not harmful to the environment
On the Hawaiian island of Molokai, where a nearly 2,000-acre test facility for Monsanto sits, air and water quality are horrendous and there are reports of deaths, infertility, uncontrolled cross-pollination, bloody skin rashes, asthma and pesticide contamination in the groundwater.
Myth #10: GMOs are here to stay
Biotech wants you to believe that GM crops are here to stay, but a war is being waged against GMOs, and the resistance is gaining significant ground. By sharing information like this, we can fight back against biotech and the poisons they're releasing into our environment.
All this information that shows that GMO's need further research before the crops are sold to the American people are astounding. Why couldn't Congress do a search online and find out this type of information?

Because Congress is stupid.

Maybe it is about time people in Washington, D.C. stop listening to bribers and do right by the American people. Calling us ignorant or stupid means you cannot defend the poison that is GM food-like products.

If you would like to live GMO free, use this handy webpage of Verified Products to assist in living a non-GMO life.

Vote with your pocket book and your vote. Get rid of Congresspersons who believe the American public cannot make health and wellbeing decisions without the consent of biotech companies.

For more information on GMO's, here are some VDP Gazette articles on the subject:

Why does the U.S. Government have Patents on Ebola?

Staff Writer, DL Mullan
Medicine / Terrorism
____________________________________

Ebola this. Ebola that... and the U.S. Government owns the patents.

No conspiracy theory here.

Have fun reading up on what your government has been experimenting with and start  asking questions as to why ebola patients are being brought into the United States, why Americans are being fearmongered, and why has ebola been overplayed in the media?

US20120251502,
WO2010048615A2,
WO2010048615A3

CA2741523 A1 DEPOSIT STATEMENT
[0001] The invention provides the isolated human Ebola (hEbola) viruses denoted as Bundibugyo (EboBun) deposited with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ("CDC"; Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America) on November 26, 2007 and accorded an accession number 200706291. This deposit was not made to an International Depository Authority (IDA) as established under the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure, and is a non-Budapest treaty deposit. The deposited organism is not acceptable by American Type Culture Collection (ATCC), Manassas, Virginia, an International Depository Authority (IDA) as established under the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure. Samples of the stated Deposit Accession No. 200706291 will be made available to approved facilities for thirty years from the date of deposit, and for the lifetime of the patent issuing from, or claiming priority to this application.

RELATED APPLICATIONS

[0002] This application claims priority benefit of U.S. Provisional Application 61/108,175 filed 24 October 2008; the contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0003] The invention is related to compositions and methods directed to a novel species of human Ebola (hEbola) virus.
Additional information:

Which brings into question the genesis of the current Ebola virus and the unnatural occurring outbreaks.

The Supreme Court case, ASSOCIATION FOR MOLECULAR PATHOLOGY ET AL.v. MYRIAD GENETICS, INC., ET AL., denied patents to the breast cancer detection via two genes:
Myriad had identified the exact location of the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes; it had not discovered that heredity plays a role in establishing risk of breast and ovarian cancer. “Myriad did not create anything,” Thomas wrote. “To be sure, it found an important and useful gene, but separating that gene from its surrounding genetic material is not an act of invention.
So is Ebola a creation of the U.S. government?

Patent protections are defined in this manner:
The Patent Act permits patents to be issued to “[w]hoever invents or discovers any new and useful . . . composition of matter,” §101, but “laws of nature, natural phenomena, and abstract ideas”“ ‘are basic tools of scientific and technological work’ ” that lie beyond the domain of patent protection, Mayo, supra, at ___.
So what is Ebola? Why is the virus patentable?

Military Bans More News Agencies from their Personnel

Staff Writer, R. Patrick Chapman
Military / Bans
___________________________________

Dear Joint Chiefs of Staff:

You do realize that once a document hits the news stand that it's not actually "classified" anymore, don't you?

You can ban as many publications as you want to but the more you make something off limits, the more people find a way of reading it.

Besides American tax money goes to create "classified" documents. So every American has the right to not only read this aforementioned information, but actually own a copy of them. Hello.

And, for all intents and purposes if you weren't doing anything against the Constitution in the first place, there would be need for leaking classified documents.

Chew on that one.

America Is Not the Greatest Country Anymore

Staff Writer, DL Mullan
Government / The People
______________________________________

What we are experiencing in our country today is by design. Think tanks, policy groups, and non-govermental organizations have made our country into a declining rock in the western hemisphere. Not all the blame can be levied in one direction. Anyone who does not learn about the real world and bridge that gap between the uninformed and the awake are part of the problem as well.

You have been duped.

That's not your fault, but ignoring others by calling them names like "Tin Foil Hat" or "Conspiracy Theorist" is.

Like canaries in a coal mine who warn the miners of impeding danger, we in the New Media are trying to get your attention.

America is not great anymore because Americans refuse to stand up. Stand up to corruption. Stand up to Agenda 21 and Sustainability. Stand up to Gitmo, torture. Stand up to drones in our skies. Stand up to polluters, gmo manufacturers, and agencies who breach the threshold of decency and the Constitution.

Yes, there are those awake individuals doing most of the heavy lifting. Isn't this your country too? When are you going to step up and carry some of that weight? When you lose your car, property rights? When your grandchildren are unable to read or add?

What's it going to take?

America used to be great because Americans used to be informed, educated, and moral as specified in the best soliloquy television had offered on the show, The Newsroom:

Our government is out of control. Our voters do not make policy. A recipe for tyranny and disaster awaits if we don't begin to stand up for what is right, moral, and just.

Or, we might as well put up a different kind of flag, the one of surrender.

Happy May Day, All You Protesters

Staff Writer, Nicole Meyer-Greene
Holiday / Protests
__________________________________

During my childhood, I was taught to leave little baskets of food and gifts on neighbors' doorsteps. As an adult, I find that May Day is more than an innocent holiday but a day of protest across the globe.

Here's a taste of what has been happening the last 24 hours:

Russia revives May Day demonstration tradition on Red Square
Police crack down on May Day protests in Turkey, Cambodia
Councilmember Sawant to march in May Day demonstration
Protesters defy May Day demonstration ban in Istanbul
Today on the Hill: May Day marked by protests to fight attacks on work

Since the decline of America via economics, social engineering, job displacement, and debt was created and implemented by the elite ruling class and the central bankers, one would believe Americans would be out in droves to protest the breaking of unions by politicians and secret trade agreements by governments and corporations.

But, nothing.

Americans still believe that the status quo exists.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The American dream is dead unless you are extremely wealthy. The engineered demise of the middle class in America for the United Nation's "social justice" platform carried out by local communities and the federal government has been catastrophic for the nation, wouldn't it be logical for Americans to protest?

It appears the propaganda to keep Americans home and off the streets is working. Americans seem to believe protesting is beneath them when it is actually their First Amendment Right

Maybe next year, when the dollar deepens the American depression through hyperinflation and the jobless will outnumber the employed, will Americans begin to stand up for themselves.

Or perhaps, Americans will continue to believe the propaganda that the jobless are parasites living off the working instead of blaming the politicians, United Nations, and corporations like they should.

Don't believe me, then read up on the Trans Pacific Partnership. It's NAFTA and Agenda 21 on steroids.

Tribute to JFK and a Reminder to Us in His Own Words

Staff Writer: DL Mullan
History / Education
_____________________________________

There are a few quotes from John Fitzgerald Kennedy that people like to quote, but why stop there when he had so many interesting things to say. So I'm going to let him tell us the story of us.
And so, my fellow americans: ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.

We stand for freedom. That is our conviction for ourselves; that is our only commitment to others.

Now the trumpet summons us again—not as a call to bear arms, though arms we need; not as a call to battle, though embattled we are—but a call to bear the burden of a long twilight struggle, year in and year out, "rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation"—a struggle against the common enemies of man: tyranny, poverty, disease, and war itself.
If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich.

The men who create power make an indispensable contribution to the Nation’s greatness, but the men who question power make a contribution just as indispensable, especially when that questioning is disinterested, for they determine whether we use power or power uses us.

We believe that if men have the talent to invent need machines that put men out of work, they have the talent to put those men back to work.

This nation was founded by many men of many nations and backgrounds. It was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, and that the rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened.

Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.
The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all.

Let us think of education as the means of developing our greatest abilities, because in each of us there is a private hope and dream which, fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone and greater strength for our nation.

Liberty without learning is always in peril; learning without liberty is always in vain.

The American, by nature, is optimistic. He is experimental, an inventor and a builder who builds best when called upon to build greatly.

The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie -- deliberate, contrived and dishonest, but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic. Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.

The stories of past courage can define that ingredient-they can teach, they can offer hope, they can provide inspiration. But they cannot supply courage itself. For this each man must look into his own soul.
Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.

There are risks and costs to a program of action. But they are far less than the long-range risks and costs of comfortable inaction.

Our problems are man-made, therefore they may be solved by man. And man can be as big as he wants. No problem of human destiny is beyond human beings.
Mankind must put an end to war or war will put an end to mankind.
Democracy and defense are not substitutes for one another. Either alone will fail.
We need men who can dream of things that never were.

For in the final analysis, our most basic common link, is that we all inhabit this small planet, we all breathe the same air, we all cherish our children's futures, and we are all mortal.

So let us dream in our mortal coil what lies beyond the daily grind are these words to live by.
