9/11 gave us the Patriot Act, NDAA indefinite detention, and torture. Now with the alleged Sony hacks and the attack on Charlie Hebdo, Americans are faced with CISPA to take more of their rights away in the name of combating "terrorism."

So who is benefiting from all this perceived "terror?" The CIA, NSA, military contractors... nowhere are Americans getting anything but lies to promote false narratives:

The so-called War Against Terrorism has been going on for quite a long time. At the same time the Islamic terrorists seem to be able to transfer millions of U.S. dollars unhampered by any significant interference from the U.S. government.

Every wire transfer in U.S. dollars anywhere in the world goes through the U.S. Federal Reserve. It's all in the Fed's computer system. At the same time, the National Security Agency has the computer capacity to record every conversation, email and text message in the world, but can't trace any dollars that fund Islamic terrorism.

Oil contracts throughout the world are carried out in U.S. dollars. How is it the Islamic State can be selling millions of dollars of oil a month? How can Iran be selling oil? Who is facilitating the transactions, all of which are in U.S. dollars? What happened to the billions of U.S. dollars of cash that the Army seemingly lost in Afghanistan and Iraq? All that cash got deposited someplace by somebody who is then spending it.  

It appears the more the U.S. government passes laws to criminalize the ordinary American, the more that same government does to support and grow terrorism.

Iran has seen much of the CIA's terrorism tactics:

Funding for their separatist causes comes directly from the CIA's classified budget but is now "no great secret", according to one former high-ranking CIA official in Washington who spoke anonymously to The Sunday Telegraph.

His claims were backed by Fred Burton, a former US state department counter-terrorism agent, who said: "The latest attacks inside Iran fall in line with US efforts to supply and train Iran's ethnic minorities to destabilise the Iranian regime."  

So the next time there is a terrorist attack, fear campaign on the news, or introduction of a bill to pass yet another draconian law aimed at American freedoms, ask yourself: why are Americans being punished for the terrorists the U.S. government keeps funding?

CISPA Returns Because the Terrorists Hate Your Freedoms

That is right, the men and women of the United States Congress hate that you are free. Besides the fact that all the surveillance you and the rest of the world are under has not stopped a terrorist attack, Congress wants to make sure that they can spy on you more anyway.

CISPA Bill Sneak Peak

Even though CISPA 2015 was introduced last Thursday, for some reason, the text of the bill has not appeared on Congress.gov. Earlier today, I called Representative Ruppersberger’s office to get a copy of the bill.

Under CISPA 2015 (HR 234), the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Attorney General, the Director of National Intelligence, and the Secretary of Defense would create the cyber threat information sharing program and also provide oversight for the program’s civil liberties protections. This is akin to allowing the foxes to guard the hen house. CISPA 2015 also mandates privacy and civil liberties reports, but allows government agencies to classify the annexes to the reports. In other words, CISPA 2015 does not intend to have any real oversight for civil liberties and privacy. Cyber threat information shared with the government would also be exempt from the Freedom of Information Act and would be a serious blow to transparency in government. Perhaps the worst thing about the CISPA 2015 bill is that it would give immunity from criminal prosecution and lawsuits to anyone sharing cyber threat information with the government. CISPA 2015 would provide for an even cozier relationship between Silicon Valley and the US government at the detriment of civil liberties and privacy for everyone else.

CISPA 2015 has now been referred to the House Committees on the Judiciary, Armed Services, Homeland Security, and Intelligence.

Why do the American people have to give up their rights to serve the paranoia of government officials? 

Who are the terrorists anyway? Ordinary citizens? The "rebels" the U.S. government funds and supplies with weapons? Or Congress itself?

Former Special Operative John Banks discusses his many years of work with the CIA and British intelligence services, during which he discovered widespread government involvement in drug trafficking to finance covert operations.

Banks recalls working alongside Oliver North during the Reagan administration in the ‘80s on the Iran-Contra Affair, which involved a secret operation to divert money made through selling weapons to Iran to Contra rebel groups in Nicaragua.

“I found they were smuggling cocaine in massive, massive, massive amounts,” he said about that operation, before being recruited by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in New York.

“I worked for them in assisting on catching CIA smuggling, and also I worked for them in Afghanistan and Northern Pakistan, where the CIA were actually swapping Stinger Red Eye and other missiles and equipment for heroin, which was coming out of Asif Ali Zardari, the husband of (former Pakistani prime minister) Benazir Bhutto.”

Banks said that in 1989 he met with Zardari in Islamabad for five hours in a conversation he recorded about Zardari’s drug activities, and turned the tapes over to the DEA. “I flew out two days later with the tapes, which were handed over to the DEA in New York, and it seriously opened their eyes,” he said. “It was also the real start of the bringing down of BCCI.”

He details his experience discovering the huge heroin trafficking operation that he says was overseen by the CIA, and also explains why the practice was favored by U.S. intelligence officials.

“If you remember correctly, during the Contra Affair operations, Congress and the Senate stopped funding the Contra operations. The cocaine was making it possible – it was coming into the states – and making it possible to continue those operations.

“There was also the Iran-gate situation where the CIA was supplying Iran with hardware in return for the hostages that were held in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley.”

He called these activities “a very dirty business” that are really no cleaner now than they were in the old days.

Banks also recalls a meeting he had with a senior official of the Afghan Taliban – which was affiliated with Al-qaeda – while he was working as an undercover U.S. intelligence agent during which the Taliban figure spoke of plans for coordinated terrorist attacks in various European and U.S. cities to coincide with the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

“Our enemies will be there – our two enemies, England and America,” he said the representative told him. “We will blow up the World Cup, Rustenburg Stadium… the explosives will be built into the stadium,” he quotes him as saying. “At the same time we will strike London, and Heathrow Airport, and Los Angeles and Las Vegas and San Diego – with missiles in America.”

“You certainly will gain the world’s attention,” he says he told members of the meeting when asked what he thought of the plans. He said he also told them that he didn’t know what effect such attacks would have on the Afghan war, or how the world would react to them after the fact.

Why the US and Britain Now See Russia as the World’s Greatest Threat

Ramtanu Maitra, Head of the South Asia Desk for Executive Intelligence Review, explores the concept of the New Great Game and how Western nations are ironically focused once again on Russia as the biggest global threat in the post Cold War world.

“Russia is definitely the greatest worry of geo-politicians in Washington. Simply because Russia is about three times the size of the United States, it has about 70 percent of its mineral reserves still not explored.”

He notes that Russia also has a relatively small population in relation to is huge geographical territory, and is strategically located near other major powers including India, China, Japan, and Central Asia.

“This Russia, if it goes into developmental mode – like the way Abraham Lincoln’s United States did, or later Roosevelt’s United States did – if they go into that kind of developmental mode, Russia doesn’t need anything from anywhere, for it to be imported. It has got oil, gas, it has got everything. It has got science, technology. So Russia is the real giant that exists, China has to import anything and everything, in order to keep going.”

Maitra said Russia is poised to become a “mighty power,” but not before some nations try to affect this rise by getting groups to stir up trouble in the region. “The only way this giant can be stopped is by keeping it off balance, by creating little revolutions all along its borders – if possible inside like Chechnya – so Russian will stay busy trying to put out fires,” he said. “Whereas the real work that is necessary is for Russia to explore its wilderness, build up its infrastructure, and then become a mighty power.”

Maitra believes one way to accomplice this is for Western nations to funnel drug money to criminal gangs and militia-type groups on the ground so that they can go into the countries like Russia, or others in the Middle East, to destabilize the regions and allow Western exploitation later.

Since much of the world’s drug supply originates in Afghanistan, he also talks about the rise of opium production that began under the Taliban, which then coordinated the global export of drugs to finance arms.

But the opium production was significantly ramped up after the U.S. led coalition military strikes that began in 2001 in retaliation for the Taliban regime’s harboring of terrorists in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.

“In 2013, the U.N. reports that (opium) cultivation was the highest, area-wise, and production is 50 percent more than it was last year.” He said the latest figures indicate a total production of 9,000 tons of opium. “This is a huge amount of money, which when it gets into the street level, it is more than a trillion dollars.”

Maitra said the majority of this drug money is then laundered offshore through Western-based banks and ultimately used to finance Islamic militant groups.

“This is real cash, drug money is real cash, it’s poor addicts putting out money – they’re not putting out IOUs – they are putting out cash in order to buy the drugs on the street. “So this is the only real money the city of London really has. That is the only money that is real, the other money is on paper.”

He cites the top U.N. official responsible for drug combat operations as telling him in an interview that these drug funds were the only real money left over after the financial crisis of 2008.

“It was the drug money, it was this drug money that was laundered through offshore banks that kept things alive, there was nothing else that existed. But this drug money is not handled by the CEO of HSBC or Goldman Sachs, people like that. This drug money is run on the ground by various types of criminals.”

Maitra also speaks about his view that Mideast states like Saudi Arabia and Qatar are secretly supporting Sunni Muslim groups like ISIS to preserve their own existence.

“They know that if they don’t push the extremist Sunni view, and don’t fund it, these extremist Sunnis will turn around and kick them out, and throw them into the salty waters of the Persian Gulf.”

He goes on to say that Britain is heavily involved in these operations as well, since a lot of the money from Saudi oil profits ends up in London, which then provides certain materials to support extremist activities. “(Britain) is serving the extremist Sunni interest that is exhibited by Saudis, Qataris and Kuwaitis,” he said.

The U.S. government has long lavished overwhelming aid on Israel, providing cash, weapons and surveillance technology that play a crucial role in Israel’s attacks on its neighbors. But top secret documents provided by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden shed substantial new light on how the U.S. and its partners directly enable Israel’s military assaults – such as the one on Gaza.

Over the last decade, the NSA has significantly increased the surveillance assistance it provides to its Israeli counterpart, the Israeli SIGINT National Unit (ISNU; also known as Unit 8200), including data used to monitor and target Palestinians. In many cases, the NSA and ISNU work cooperatively with the British and Canadian spy agencies, the GCHQ and CSEC.

The relationship has, on at least one occasion, entailed the covert payment of a large amount of cash to Israeli operatives. Beyond their own surveillance programs, the American and British surveillance agencies rely on U.S.-supported Arab regimes, including the Jordanian monarchy and even the Palestinian Authority Security Forces, to provide vital spying services regarding Palestinian targets.

The new documents underscore the indispensable, direct involvement of the U.S. government and its key allies in Israeli aggression against its neighbors. That covert support is squarely at odds with the posture of helpless detachment typically adopted by Obama officials and their supporters.

President Obama, in his press conference on Friday, said ”it is heartbreaking to see what’s happening there,” referring to the weeks of civilian deaths in Gaza – “as if he’s just a bystander, watching it all unfold,” observed Brooklyn College Professor Corey Robin. Robin added: ”Obama talks about Gaza as if it were a natural disaster, an uncontrollable biological event.”

Each time Israel attacks Gaza and massacres its trapped civilian population – at the end of 2008, in the fall of 2012, and now again this past month – the same process repeats itself in both U.S. media and government circles: the U.S. government feeds Israel the weapons it uses and steadfastly defends its aggression both publicly and at the U.N.; the U.S. Congress unanimously enacts one resolution after the nextto support and enable Israel; and then American media figures pretend that the Israeli attack has nothing to do with their country, that it’s just some sort of unfortunately intractable, distant conflict between two equally intransigent foreign parties in response to which all decent Americans helplessly throw up their hands as though they bear no responsibility.

So you think you know the history of the United States? I knew that there was much I didn't know but this film makes it pretty clear that there's much more to the story.

Fascinating, engaging and deeply engrossing film that left me wanting more with a mental note to watch again. I have never claimed to be a student of history but watching this film makes me wish I had more time to be such.

The history of the United States as shown in this film is not what we're taught in school. Other films on the channel such as "The Secret of Oz" and "The Money Masters" hint at how the British Monarchy has tirelessly worked to undermine the great American experiment, but this film brings that whole subject to the fore with a lot more detail.
