Removing Confederate Statues is Revisionist History

Staff Writer, DL Mullan

Listen to A Black Conservative Tell You Why Removing Confederate Statues is Revisionist History
New Orleans has removed the first of a few Confederate statues in response to criticism that the statutes are symbols of white supremacy, racism, and hatred. Opponents of the statues also say they glorify the ugly history of slavery in the United States. Workers who were tasked with the job of removing the monuments and statues had to wear bulletproof vests while being protected by police snipers as they worked at night. This was said to be a precautionary measure for their safety, but it could also be seen as a PR move to justify the removal of the structures. Some people are upset about this whole situation and the bulletproof vests may be worn to try and paint the upset people as also being violent white supremacists that would shoot someone trying to remove something they deeply identify with.

All of this screams “revisionist history.” Marxism, more specifically. To attempt to change the written history into something else more palatable to those who are either in power or those who want to assume power. The Confederate (battle) flag has often been cited in conjunction with the statues of Robert E. Lee and others as symbols of racism for a few reasons. Many of the reasons are not totally sound and could be used for the other side of the war as well. But due to prior Marxist revisionism, it appears as if only one side is mentioned in a negative way.

Robert E. Lee is said to have been a slave owner but so was General Ulysseus S. Grant, the leader of the Union Army. Nobody wants to desecrate any of his monuments. The Confederacy was said to be fighting for the preservation of slavery, but the North had slaves throughout the entire war and for a brief period of time after the war, longer than the South was allowed to keep their slaves. The Confederate flag is seen as a symbol of racism but it only existed for 4 years of slavery, while the American flag existed for around 90 years of slavery and the Union Jack existed for about 150 years of slavery before that (in North America of course.) Many of these facts are not known by the general public and more facts will continue to go unknown if the current trend of revisionist history continues. And those who do not know their history are doomed to repeat it.

Study Finds Fake News Isn't Significant

Staff Writer, DL Mullan
Fake News / Study
________________________________

Social Media and Fake News in the 2016 Election states:
Conclusion
In the aftermath of the 2016 US presidential election, it was alleged that fake news might have been pivotal in the election of President Trump. We do not provide an assessment of this claim one way or another.
That said, the new evidence we present clarifies the level of overall exposure to fake news, and it can give some sense of how persuasive fake news would need to have been to have been pivotal. We estimate that the average US adult read and
remembered on the order of one or perhaps several fake news articles during the election period, with higher exposure to pro-Trump articles than pro-Clinton articles. How much this affected the election results depends on the effectiveness of fake news exposure in changing the way people vote. As one benchmark, Spenkuch and Toniatti (2016) show that exposing voters to one additional television campaign ad changes vote hares by approximately 0.02 percentage points. This suggests that if one fake news article were about as persuasive as one TV campaign ad, the fake news in our database would have changed vote shares by an amount on the order of hundredths of a percentage point. This is much smaller than Trump’s margin of victory in the pivotal states on which the outcome depended.
Of course there are many reasons why a single fake news story could have been more effective than a television commercial. If it were true that the Pope endorsed Donald Trump, this fact would be significantly more surprising—and probably move a rational voter’s beliefs by more as a result—than the information contained in a typical campaign ad. Moreover, as we emphasize above, there are many ways in which our estimates could understate true exposure. We only measure the number of stories read and remembered, and the excluded stories seen on news feeds but not read, or read but not remembered, could have had a large impact. Our fake news database is incomplete, and the effect of the stories it omits could also be significant.
We also note that there are several ways in which this back-of-the-envelope calculation is conservative, in the sense that it could overstate the importance of fake news. We consider the number of stories voters read regardless of whether they believed them. We do not account for diminishing returns, which could reduce fake news’ effect to the extent that a small number of voters see a large number of stories. Also, this rough calculation does not explicitly take into account the fact
that a large share of pro-Trump fake news is seen by voters who are already predisposed to vote for Trump—the larger this selective exposure, the smaller the impact we would expect of fake news on vote shares.
To the extent that fake news imposes social costs, what can and should be done? In theory, a social planner should want to address the market failures that lead to distortions, which would take the form of increasing information about the state of the world and increasing incentives for news consumers to infer the true state of the world. In practice, social media platforms and advertising networks have faced some pressure from consumers and civil society to reduce the prevalence of fake news on their systems. For example, both Facebook and Google are removing fake news sites Hunt Allcott and Matthew Gentzkow 233 from their advertising platforms on the grounds that they violate policies against misleading content (Wingfield, Isaac, and Benner 2016). Furthermore, Facebook has taken steps to identify fake news articles, flag false articles as “disputed by 3rd party fact-checkers,” show fewer potentially false articles in users’ news feeds, and  help users avoid accidentally sharing false articles by notifying them that a story is “disputed by 3rd parties” before they share it (Mosseri 2016). In our theoretical framework, these actions may increase social welfare, but identifying fake news sites and articles also raises important questions about who becomes the arbiter of truth.

The Ridenhour Prizes for Truth Telling, Edward Snowden Wins

Staff Writer, R. Patrick Chapman
Human Rights / The Ridenhour Prizes
_____________________________________

Truth telling has been lost to this world. The American culture used to be "Truth, Justice, and the American Way." A notion Superman would be proud to own.

Instead another type of culture has been inserted into the United States configuration, one many do not recognize from our childhood musings. Hollywood has decided to manipulate the generations through programming and social engineering so most people do not see telling the truth as something special or correct, but something to be feared or ignored.

Luckily, there are still people and organizations who believe in Truth Telling. The Ridenhour Prizes are one such foundation:
The annual Ridenhour Prizes recognize acts of truth-telling that protect the public interest, promote social justice or illuminate a more just vision of society. These prizes memorialize the spirit of fearless truth-telling that whistleblower and investigative journalist Ron Ridenhour reflected throughout his extraordinary life and career.
Edward Snowden is the other.
"I don't want to live in a world where everything that I say, everything I do, everyone I talk to, every expression of creativity or love or friendship is recorded. And that's not something I'm willing to support, it's not something I'm willing to build, and it's not something I'm willing to live under. So I think anyone who opposes that sort of world has an obligation to act in the way they can," Snowden told Greenwald, Poitras, and Guardian journalist Ewen MacAskill in an interview for the Guardian in June 2013.
When Greenwald asked him why he revealed himself as the whistleblower, Snowden replied: "I think that the public is owed an explanation of the motivations behind the people who make these disclosures that are outside of the democratic model…. And I'm willing to go on the record to defend the authenticity of them and say, 'I didn't change these, I didn't modify the story.'"
Perhaps Superman can be proud of humanity after all. There are still people in this world who do not conform to or believe the notion that truth is untenable, unfathomable, or unremarkable, but something to be celebrated.

Maybe it is time people began telling the truth and showing the world what dark secrets hide away from public knowledge.

Because evil takes root in the world when good men stand and do nothing.

Thank you, Edward Snowden, for speaking the Truth. We appreciate all The Ridenhour Prize recipients.

What Happened to Splitting the Sky? Murder, Cover Up of an Activist and Legend

Staff Writer, DL Mullan
Terrorism / Government
______________________________

Can someone tell the truth too much? What happens when you connect the dots in a criminal conspiracy for profit and control? And, tells everyone about his research? Meet Splitting the Sky.

Dacajeweiah "Splitting the Sky" aka John Boncore and John Hill is a member of the Mohawk Nation. In his own words, Splitting the Sky wrote:
Dacajeweiah "Splitting the Sky" aka John Boncore and John Hill, a Mohawk, a principal leader of the Attica rebellion, a leader within the American Indian Movement with the League of Indigenous Sovereign Nations, in particular at Gustafen Lake BC, and a 9/11 Truth researcher, advocate and speaker. Also a part time film and screen actor, as well as a carpenter.
Splitting the Sky was born January 7th, 1952 and died under mysterious circumstances March 13th, 2013. Nearly a year after his death, many questions remain.

One of his friends who has since taken over his blog had this to say about the investigation into Splitting the Sky's death:
I want to emphasize something which I touched on in the previous post, that the BC Government and the RCMP should be considered as being in a "conflict of interest" with regard to their "investigation" into the death of the high-profile, life-long activist Splitting the Sky. The Government of BC and their friends want to put an oil pipeline through B.C., across First Nations territories, and he opposed that. As to the RCMP, they may hold a grudge as he exposed their corruption and dirty tricks in the wake of the Gustafsen Lake Stand-Off in 1995, and law enforcement officials generally, both in Canada and the USA may still consider him a "cop killer" dating back to the "Attica Rebellion" in 1971 (although he was exonerated), and also for later exposing the brutal murders committed by NY State troops when they violently put down the rebellion, for which no one was ever held accountable.
Splitting the Sky often took on new controversies with the same heart and soul he had during his earlier turmoils. He discovered how powerful words could be. He found his voice and called out for justice.
Life-long activist, Splitting the Sky appeared at St. Ann's Academy on November 29, 2008. In this impassioned and authoritative speech he meticulously follows the bloody and labyrinthine trail of corruption and money, which leads him to conclude that a cast of top-level financiers and international secret service agencies were behind the events of 9/11...

...After a childhood in foster homes and juvenile jails, Splitting-the-Sky became a teenage organizer in Attica prison -- and the only person convicted for the 1971 Attica revolt. After barely escaping the electric chair (the attempt to scapegoat him foundered on the obvious fact the most and worst atrocities were committed by the authorities, not the prisoners) Splitting-the-Sky went on to become one of the greatest Native American activists of his generation.

During his stay at the Marriot Hotel one block from the World Trade Center in September, 2001, Splitting-the-Sky had an intuition that he had better cut short his vacation and leave -- so he checked out and left New York one day before the attack. Later, he grew suspicious and began the research that convinced him 9/11 was an inside job. By the time I met him in 2007, he had become an expert on the "money trail" linking the New World Order banksters to 9/11.
9/11 was Splitting the Sky's crowning achievement. He researched through countless websites and articles as he followed the money. In his heart, he knew what happened on the day that changed America forever. What he found, he shared with anyone who would listen.

Isn't it time you listened? You will not be disappointed.

He is poignant. He is factual. He is passionate. Moreover, Splitting the Sky is right.

If you want more information, please visit his website. Read and watch what he had to say.

Time may have been short for him. Is it too late for us? Maybe not, if we dare to listen, learn, question, and demand justice for the victims of 9/11.

In the process, we might just save ourselves.

Clapp On, Clapp Off... The NSA's Clapper! Switching on the Truth Light Never Felt So Good

Staff Writer, DL Mullan
News / Government
_____________________________

March 12, 2013, Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) asked questions in a Senate Intelligence Committee on warrantless geolocation surveillance and National Security Agency tracking: Wyden in Intelligence Hearing on GPS Surveillance & Nat'l Security.

In this meeting, the Director of Intelligence, James Clapper lied to the committee under oath:
“Does the NSA collect any type of data at all on millions or hundreds of millions of Americans?” [Senator Ron Wyden's question to James Clapper.]
“No, sir,” Clapper shot back without a pause. “There are cases where they could inadvertently, perhaps, collect, but not wittingly.” Why so? Because “in the case of NSA and CIA, there are strictures against tracking American citizens in the United States for foreign intelligence purposes — and that’s what those agencies are set up to do.”
These lies prompted a young idealist, who was employed as a contractor to the NSA, to gather evidence to the contrary and with that, Edward Snowden proved James Clapper perjured himself.

This video summarizes how bad the government has gotten with snippets of newscasts put together to exhibit the lunacy of their National Security programs:

After viewing that film, then it should be no surprise what James Clapper's next move has been. Free speech and free thinkers in journalism cannot be tolerated. To defend himself from his own ineptitude, Mr. Clapper shifted the blame to Snowden and the press in this outrageous claim last week:
Clapper called on “Snowden and his accomplices” to return the documents the former National Security Agency contractor took, in order to minimize what he called the “profound damage that his disclosures have caused and continued to cause”.
Who are considered "accomplices," exactly?
When asked whether Clapper was including journalists as accomplices to Snowden, Shawn Turner, a Clapper spokesman, told The Associated Press that Clapper "was referring to anyone who is assisting Edward Snowden to further threaten our national security through the unauthorized disclosure of stolen documents related to lawful foreign intelligence collection programs."
So that would be a: "yes."  Journalists are accomplices in the eyes of James Clapper. That also means: you and I. Well, the American people have some news for you: we aren't accomplices.

James Clapper's lies and assertions omit some very fine details, the information in question doesn't just belong to Mr. Clapper. It doesn't just belong to the NSA, its contractors, or the federal government. The "leaked" intelligence information belongs to every American.

If people pay their tribute to the Central Banks, called Income Tax, or not, irregardless of their position in life, the people of this country still own all the paperwork, information, budget, and secrets the United States government has hidden away.

That means: Edward Snowden obtained and delegated the information about the NSA spying program lawfully because in truth, the information was his to begin with.

Chew on that.

Also if you want to get down to the nitty gritty, Edward Snowden was doing his Constitutional duty that he swore an oath to uphold. He was protecting the Constitution, liberty, and Americans. He did so at great personal cost, which makes him the hero, and the government a bunch of lying elitist dirtbags.

Mr. Clapper, the American people do not owe you anything. We don't own you excuses. We don't owe you our papers. We don't owe you TSA pat downs. We do not owe you our Rights and we certainly do not owe you our Privacy.

In all reality, Mr. Clapper, you owe the American people. You take our money for your salary. You owe us an honest explanation. You owe us the restoration of our Rights. You owe us our Privacy. After all, We the People are your employer.

If the United States government was not harming Americans, stealing our data, stomping on our Rights, or creating a hostile life environment with secrets and lies and brutality, then you and the federal government would not have anything to "leak."

If you were upholding the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights in the first place, then whistleblowers like Edward Snowden would not exist, or need to exist.

So in fact, your [and the federal government's] irrational, secretive, and unconstitutional actions are the reasons your spying program was unveiled. It's not Snowden's fault. It's your fault.

In addition, other whistleblowers like Manning and wikileak's Julian Assange aren't your enemies. These people should be set free from the United States' government's wrath. It is insane to do anything else otherwise.

The only enemy We the People need to stand up against is the enemy of truth, justice, and the American way, which defines you, the NSA spying program, and federal government.

So did you just want to arrest yourself?
