With our Editor, DL Mullan, the VDP Gazette has become a voice in the alternative media community. Essays, rebuttals, and opinion pieces have blazed a trail. Well, she does like to light things on fire: bridges, mostly.
So if you have had fun, been informed, felt educated and entertained by the VDP Gazette, we hope you like the coming years. We do not know where the new administration of the United States is going but the Gazette's writers and editor will keep politicians on track with the American legacy.

As an answer to the documentary, The Villa de Paz Gazette is funded solely by its Editor, DL Mullan. The Gazette takes no corporate money or advertisement of any kind. The only funding source the Gazette would ever consider would be from the Villa de Paz community itself. Even then, the VDP Gazette will remain independent, truth seeking, investigative, vigilant, and geared toward the ideals of liberty and justice for all.
The VDP Gazette's Editor cannot envision a working Fifth Estate such as media in any other way.
Have you ever looked up into the crisp blue Arizona sky and saw jet planes so far up into the ionosphere that you needed binoculars just to get a better look? I have. The white planes with no markings are so close to the edge of space that their bellies are pink with the glow of the sun.
Contrails are normal. These geoengineering chemical trails, wafting along the heavens and showering down bits of aluminum, barium, strontium, and other heavy metals, are not normal. OMG, there is a War on Christmas! Really...? Where?
Let's give the theory a litmus test.
Are Christians allowed to worship as they please in their private lives? Yes, they are... Are they allowed to buy and decorate Christmas Trees? Oh, sorry, that's a pagan ritual, but yes, they can if they want to. Well, Christians can kiss under the Mistletoe, right? Yeah and that's pagan too. How about Christmas Presents? Borrowed too, but an effective money maker. What about ol' Saint Nick? You're kidding right? His ritual is pagan too!
The History of Christmas gives a detailed analysis of what Christmas past is really like. Some of it is not too pretty. Most of it is of pagan origin.
Who cares about facts? The celebration continues... year after year. Now some media outlets have determined that an imaginary person has created the War on Christmas to demonize the Christian god, religion and its followers.
Let's take a look at the Constitution for a moment:
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
So in light of this evidence, Christmas is not under attack. The Supreme Court is inconsistent with its rulings and gives no guidelines about the tenets of what is and is not considered the establishment of a state religion. So that leaves people and institutions unable to satisfy a lawful standard and now are subject to the inklings of mass hysteria.
In addition, by historical delineation, Christmas is something borrowed and something blue. The day celebrated was picked out to curb the pagans from celebrating the wrong god. The question becomes: are you celebrating Christ Mass or Saturnalia?
The ancient Greek writer poet and historian Lucian (in his dialogue entitled Saturnalia) describes the festival’s observance in his time. In addition to human sacrifice, he mentions these customs: widespread intoxication; going from house to house while singing naked; rape and other sexual license; and consuming human-shaped biscuits (still produced in some English and most German bakeries during the Christmas season).
Doesn't the pagan rituals above sound all to familiar for this time of the year? At least their celebration was from December 17th to 25th. Americans have to endure an overabundance of public drunkenness and intoxicated driving from Halloween to the New Year.
There are wars against religion in this world. That is not a lie. However there comes a time when a perspective on the war of anything needs to be established.
Take for instance Tibet and Buddhism. Maybe Christians should realize they are not under attack by the phrase: "Happy Holidays" and understand that they could use their goodwill toward men by actually helping another religion out.
"Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me!"
As children many of us were given this piece of advice as a shield against bullies and enemies. This advice safeguarded our self identity and esteem. Children may expose the truth, albeit sometimes painful truths, but we always managed to cope because we had these mechanisms of advice.
In all reality, it's not what you say that affects people; it's what you do. If someone says something you do not like then you have an opportunity to oppose them right then and there, or ignore them. It is your choice in what action you take.

The great thing about the First Amendment is that it protects our daily speech: conformist rhetoric to controversial religious views to argumentative demagogue. You are covered!

Granted the Supreme Court does not believe yelling "FIRE!" in a crowded and dark movie theater as a First Amendment protection, but we can agree to disagree to make no law "abridging the freedom of speech."
That is unless you are a corporation.
Today if you speak your truth, you are admonished. You can't say this. You can't say that. Why not? Sticks and stones, remember? Words are not going to hurt you, but adults are not using this childhood self-defense mechanism. Instead adults are going for the juggler in response to mere words.
What is even more ridiculous is that we as a nation of adults are allowing corporations to deem what is speakable and what is not. "Hate speech" is another form of censorship. As an adult you can hate all you want as long as your actions do not take away the rights of another person.
Saying words does not keep someone else from expressing themselves, carrying out their lives, or going to work.
Actions do.
So a corporation says: you cannot work unless you stop your free speech! That should be sending a red flag to everyone in the United States. The First Amendment is not there to protect social graces but the social heredox.
In America if you have a difference of opinion or religion or whatever, you can have your freedoms abridged without due process of law. Someone can get suspended or fired from their job.
The next level of this outrage against opinion is happening in the courts. Now if you have a business, not giving service to someone you do not agree with, then you can get your business sued. Can anyone walk in off the streets without a shirt or shoes get service refused and sue the establishment? What happened to an owner's right to refuse service to anyone for any reason? That's gone.
It is beyond ridiculous that the United States has been reduced to a bunch of whiny, insolent, bratty children! People have the right to their opinion. That is what separates us from North Korea and China. So suck it up.
If you do not like someone's opinion, then do not talk to them, buy from them, or serve them. It is really a simple approach to protect people's rights for and against any topic. The adult way to handle the problem is just to agree to disagree.
If no one got harmed, then words are just words. Protected words. Freewill to express those words.
Words.
Words offend. Words defend. Words define.
Words should never be regulated by corporations at any time in any way.
So I bought this lovely little satchel on clearance at Target.com. I buy online several times a month. I have been doing so for quite a few years.
Today, I was expecting this package. When it did not arrive, I went to UPS.com where my Tracking Information page yielded this statement:

So I did a search online and other people have had similar messages about their packages. I read forums about guns and ammunition. The government likes to stop ammunition sent from vendors to legal gun owners a lot. As well as I saw a guy's complaint on a body building forum.
Yeah, let's stop his protein drinks!
So I called my local chapter of the ACLU. The operator could not give me any legal advice, but she said that the ACLU tracks these types of governmental overreach and to please file a complaint. I think I might just do that.
In all fairness, I did leave a message on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Comment Line with my name, phone number, why I was calling and my UPS tracking number. I asked for a copy of the Search Warrant or any other documentation for my files.
I was very professional and nice on the phone. You never know when there has been a threat made against a UPS route or driver. If I do not hear from DHS (Sieg Heil!) by next Wednesday, I will file a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request in addition to my ACLU complaint.
All this for a $17 purse.
As I was writing this first hand account about the government allegedly violating my Fifth Amendment rights, the UPS page changed. The EXCEPTION was there but now the remark of government involvement has been erased and my package is now in TRANSIT.
Good thing, I keep copies of everything.
So if this incident has happened to you, please file a complaint with the ACLU. (Each State has its own complaint form.) You might even want to file a complaint with your State's Attorney General's Office as well.
No matter the law or excuse, the US government is accountable to the American people.
